SPUM celebrates its 2022 University Week and 110th foundation anniversary with the theme, “In God’s Kairos: Goodness Overflowing.”

The first day of university week started with a kick-off program hosted by Earl David Ong and Juliana Alerta which was held via Zoom, Facebook, and Youtube live stream. The program commenced with remarks from the University President, Sr. Ma. Evangeline Anastacio, SPC, and production numbers from the Paulinian Dance Troupe. It was followed by the eucharistic celebration officiated by Father Paul Gungon. Afterward, the 2022 service awards for academics and non-academics personnel were commemorated. Ms. Claudine Alhambra and Mr. Ajocrivipor Agojo served as the masters of the ceremony.

For the afternoon’s event, the Paulinian Edge 365 Finally Friday and Supreme Student Government organized the “Love, Finally” where Paulinians dedicated songs and messages to their special someone. After the heartwarming break, the most awaited virtual watch party organized by the College of Arts and Sciences, together with the College of Education took place. It was a jam-packed event with over 220 participants from the Senior High School Department and 150 participants from the College Department. They featured a 2020 Pixar movie titled, “Soul” that talked about a jazz pianist on the brink of a near-death experience, who got stuck in the afterlife. The movie dabbled on the character contemplating his life choices and regretting the existences that he mostly took for granted. The movie is aligned with the theme of University Week 2022, “In God’s Kairos, Goodness Overflowing,” as it portrays how situations may not always go as planned, but we can adapt and go on to have a great life that we can appreciate in God’s perfect time. As Joe said in the movie, “Life is full of possibilities. You just need to know where to look.”
