SPU Manila Celebrates the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul
By Sherly Mae Traifalgar | February 15, 2022

The whole St. Paul University Manila community celebrated the Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul through a Eucharistic Celebration on January 25, 2022. The Mass, which was presided over by Fr. Jonathan Bitoy, CMF, in the Chapel of the Crucified Church, was streamed via St. Paul University Manila Facebook Page and ONESPCEM YouTube Channel.
The celebration was attended by more than 5,000 people virtually from different communities run by the Sisters of St. Paul of Chartres (SPC). In his homily, Fr, Bitoy expounded on the SPC 2022 Christological Theme: “Jesus, The Teacher and Prophet,” and its connection to our everyday lives. The Roman Catholic Church marks this Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul as our thanksgiving to God for the miraculous conversion of the revered Saint.
After the Mass, SPU Manila launched the three new projects and programs of the University. First, the launching of the SPC 2022 Christological Theme: “Jesus, The Teacher, and Prophet.” This year’s theme was inspired by “Jesus Pantocrator,” which means “creator of all.” Second, the launching of the Paulinian Prayer Initiative. The goal of this project is to gather and engage Paulinians and their families and friends to reach more voters in all segments of society in the coming 2022 elections. It will foster awareness of what our country truly needs and the choice of leaders who are morally upright and who share our Paulinian Core Values. Lastly, the new SPU Manila Website and Admissions Platform. With its brand-new features, Paulinians can now easily access and check all the admission information they need. It was especially made for incoming Senior High School, College, and Graduate School applicants.
The Feast of the Conversion of St. Paul coincided with the opening day of the University Week, which had been planned to be held on January 25–26, 2022, but due to the movements in the University’s academic calendar and the surge in Covid-19 cases, was moved to February 16–18, 2022.
